Tomorrow is the Wild ABout Wool pop up yarn market in my local village. I'm the co-event organiser as well as one of the traders and have been for the past few years ever since we started with it. It's grown over the years reaching a wider range of customers. It's grown in stall numbers too and now has the UK Knitting and Crochet guild involvement, organising appointments to see their collection which is held in the mill just round the corner.
Well it should be !
But as you know, no such events are happening at the moment. All postponed until 1st November (hopefully).
Gill, however will be hosting little interview sessions with some of the stall holders which will be posted on our facebook page . They will also be offering 10% off their online goods with the discount code "WAWMay17".
I have designed and knit a new Brioche cowl in readiness for the market which I'm releasing today. Its quite an easy brioche knit, one for those of you that have mastered 2 colour brioche in the round.
The new Eddy Cowl Kit - knitting pattern & choice of 3 West Yorkshire Spinners 100% wool colourways.
I've also done quite a lot of designing work for knitting magazines, "Knit Now" and "The Knitter" these last few months, with 4 designs that will be released this summer. I'll let you know as soon as they are, they cover fair isle, lace, cables and slip stitch.
Don't forget the Coupon Code "WAWMay17" for 10% off.
New Colourways for my best sellers...……. Checkerboard Cowl and Cable Lap Blanket.
I'm hoping that you are OK and keeping yourself busy and entertained.
Up until a couple of weeks ago I was feeling a little guilty, still being able to work from home, still enjoying my garden and taking my dog out for long walks in the countryside. The weather has been glorious, the air feels nice and clean and hearing the birds singing in a morning is lovely. Watching the news and hearing the devastation that's happening was overwhelming for me. I totally respect the NHS staff and care workers that are putting their own lives on the line. I wanted to do something too. So...….. I'm sewing medical gowns. We have a mill (a shirt manufacturer) in our little village that has got a contract with the NHS to produce millions of gowns! They have an army of volunteers and yes I'm one of them. I'm not producing them very quickly but for my own sanity I feel I am helping in my own small way. I have to balance the gown production with everything else; keeping my online shop going & keeping my relationship on an even keel.
So what's new in the shop?
Well I have finally managed to release a new pattern. I designed and knit it earlier on in the year and was waiting to find a model so I could get some good photos. Well that's not going to happen for a while so I decided to take some photos in my newly decorated attic studio instead.
