  1. Hi there!

I'm hoping that you are OK and keeping yourself busy and entertained.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was feeling a little guilty, still being able to work from home, still enjoying my garden and taking my dog out for long walks in the countryside. The weather has been glorious, the air feels nice and clean and hearing the birds singing in a morning is lovely. Watching the news and hearing the devastation that's happening was overwhelming for me. I totally respect the NHS staff and care workers that are putting their own lives on the line. I wanted to do something too. So...….. I'm sewing medical gowns. We have a mill (a shirt manufacturer) in our little village that has got a contract with the NHS to produce millions of gowns! They have an army of volunteers and yes I'm one of them. I'm not producing them very quickly but for my own sanity I feel I am helping in my own small way. I have to balance the gown production with everything else; keeping my online shop going & keeping my relationship on an even keel.

So what's new in the shop?

Well I have finally managed to release a new pattern. I designed and knit it earlier on in the year and was waiting to find a model so I could get some good photos. Well that's not going to happen for a while so I decided to take some photos in my newly decorated attic studio instead.

I've also done quite a lot of designing work for knitting magazines, "Knit Now" and "The Knitter" these last few months, with 4 designs that will be released this summer. I'll let you know as soon as they are, they cover fair isle, lace, cables and slip stitch.
    In the meantime there are......
  2. I can't believe its just 1 week where here in the UK we were told that all our pubs, restarants and cafe's had to close. Then over last weekend, camp sites were closed (we were booted off one) and then Monday (or was it Tuesday, I'm now getting my days all mixed up) it was an enforced lock down.
I work from home, and as long as the post office or some other courier service are still operating I can still work, still send out kit , yarn, needles etc to you people that want to keep yourself craftily entertained during your own lock down.

So want to learn or knit something challenging?

Still 1 or 2 places left on the mystery KAL which is due to start early April. Only open to UK people now, as you will need to purchase the yarn from me I need to make sure you all receive it before the KAL starts.

Once purchased a section of the KAL pattern will be emailed to you on a regular basis (as quick as I can design and knit) and you will get access to an exclusive facebook group, where we will chat, swap photos, talk through the pattern, find new ways of doing things and generally help each other along with the project.

The KAL pattern itself is free, you will just pay for the yarn. All I ask is that you come along to the group and join in. It should be fun and a great learning experience.

The KAL facebook group is set up and waiting for you! . Just let me know if you want to join in.
